There are many opportunities that exist for students interested in band at the High School Level that encompass a variety of musical styles.
Scarlet Guard Marching Band & Color Guard
The Scarlet Guard is known for the complexity of music and showmanship within the marching band community. The marching band participates in Half Time performances during the Football Season as well as regional OMEA competitions.
The 2018 Scarlet Guard season came to a conclusion with a Superior Rating at the OMEA State Championship competition.
The Crestwood High School Symphonic Winds is the top music performance ensemble in the Crestwood Local School District. With a diverse range of musical selections and powerful performances, this group gives students a strong basis of upper level musicianship skills. This ensemble is to give students a firm foundation of musical fundamentals and begin to learn how to create more emotive music. Students performing in this ensemble spend 3 hours a week outside of the normal school day to rehearse and create music.
The Crestwood High School Jazz Band these students have a strong passion to learn about jazz, funk, blues, and swing music. This extra curricular band meets twice a week to work on jazz basics including improvisation, 12-bar blues, and extended chords. This group is an addition to the basics built upon in the other high school ensembles.
